Through interactive, supportive programs, WAWC seeks to improve the economic, physical, and emotional well being of all families in Santa Cruz County.”
Project: Mari Lynch – Bicycling Monterey Blog (visit site)Location: Monterey, California| Type: Personal Blog
Mari Lynch is “the owner and founder of Fine Wordworking, established in Monterey, California in 1981. The business first received national acclaim for book editing, earning it a listing in the industry directory Literary Market Place annually since 1987. Outside the world of book publishing, Mari’s work is also highly regarded in many other fields of written communication.”

Project: Xavier High SchoolLocation: Chuuk, Micronesia | Type: High School
The school needed a website to match its new directions, leadership, and renewed commitment to excellence. The project involved designing an entirely new website while matching its content with the school’s self-study report for its Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC).
Project: CafetalLocation: Santa Cruz, California | Type: Cafe
Cafetal is a progressive coffee lounge & deli located in Santa Cruz, CA. Owners Lily and Dulce needed a simple website for their shop. The project involved designing a new website that uses the same branding color scheme and feel of the cafe’s deco. This is an example of a simple business web design that can be easily adapted to any Micronesian setting.
Project: Houk IslandLocation: Chuuk, FSM | Type: Municipality
Commissioned by the Community Council on Houk, the project involved the documentation of the reality and needs on the island. Having so many needs and hopes for their children, the people wanted to appeal to the world community for help on some of their needs. This project involved two seniors from Xavier High School to serve as research assistants, writers, photographers for the project as part of their senior requirement to complete a Community Service Project. The students accompanied Vid to Houk and for an entire week interviewed the leaders, took photos, and proceeded to write up the content of the website.
Project: Matlack-VanEvery DesignLocation: Santa Cruz, CA | Type: Business
This interior design firm which specializes in orthodontics and dental office design needed a new website to match their marketing strategies. The project involved designing an entirely new website which includes photos of some of their award winning office designs. Their goal wasa to communicate visually the company’s own architectural design philosophy (clean, modern, functional).
Project: Guma Mami, Inc.Location: Agana, Guam | Type: Non-Profit
This is a Guam-based nonprofit organization serving the needs of people with various forms of disabilities. They needed a new website to celebrate their 25th anniversary and to reach potential donors and volunteers. This is a good example of a project in which all phases from communication, conceptualization, contract negotiations, text compilations, testing, payments, launching was done electronically via emails or Skype to and from Guam. It shows that even the Pacific Ocean cannot stand in the way of a web design project.
Project: Saramen Chuuk Academy – UNDER REDESIGNLocation: Chuuk |Type: School
This is a wonderful sample of a real school-wide community educational effort, which involved students in the Advanced Computer class who served as photographers, research assistants, and content authors saving tons of time and money. It also offered an opportunity for students to learn the process of designing a website. The continued maintenance of the site was given to the school.
Project: Chuuk Reform MovementLocation: Chuuk, Micronesia | Type: Political Activism
The Chuuk Reform Movement is a network of globally dispersed, locally focused Chuukese citizens with shared commitment to improve Chuuk through awareness, inspiration, and action. The movement needed a blog to share news and information for members.
